I have been watching the Euros with a lot of interest. And somehow have always preferred the not so obvious things, compared to the obvious ones. Say for example contrary to popular belief among Arsenal fans I believe David Silva is what Arsenal actually need and probably David Villa is something we can do without. [...]

Fixture draft unkind to Arsenal. Can it be changed?
Posted in Football, Sports, tagged Arsenal, Football, Premier League, Sports on June 16, 2008 | 6 Comments »
The draft premier league draw is out. Arsenal seem to have a fairly easy fixture list to start with. However, the same cannot be said about the end of the season run-in.
I personally am not too happy with the draw from an Arsenal point of view. My worries are these –
16/17 UEFA Champions League [...]
Can Arsenal afford to lose Adebayor at any price?
Posted in Football, Sports, tagged Arsenal, Football, Sports on June 15, 2008 | 11 Comments »
Recently, there has been talk of Milan chasing Adebayor to solve their problems in the strike department. They are supposed to have a shortlist of three players Drogba, Etoo and Adebayor. As per the latest update the price they have been told for Etoo by Barca is deemed to be too high, and they are [...]
What made Wenger change his mind on buying a Defender? … & Euro 2008
Posted in Football, Sports, tagged Arsenal, Euro 2008, Football, Sports, Wenger on June 12, 2008 | 18 Comments »
First things first, we are not even hundred percent sure whether Wenger actually made the comment that he does not feel the need to buy a defender. He may even have said that, but in some different context. So as far as the credibility of those comments goes, it’s plain speculation as per me for [...]
David Silva a better buy for Arsenal than Villa…and some more Euros!!!

Spain were simply amazing yesterday in the Euros. Torres was good, but Villa was better. His movement and clinical finishing was simply breathtaking. Arsenal fans would have been encouraged by Villa’s third goal in which Fabregas was the provider. They would be salivating at the prospect of watching that week in week out provided the [...]
What did Wenger tell Ramsey that made him sign for Arsenal?
Posted in Football, Sports, tagged Arsenal, Euro 2008, Football, Sports on June 10, 2008 | 14 Comments »
For starters, I am not too sure whether I am happy about Arsenal signing Ramsey or I am not happy. There are some usual doubts which cause this. And that’s the exact reason why I am curious on what exactly Wenger did Wenger tell Ramsey, which made sure Ramsey chose us over the preferred choice [...]
Can Podolski be a signing for Arsenal? Modric wasn’t great in one game…
Posted in Football, Sports, tagged Arsenal, Euro 2008, Football, Sports on June 9, 2008 | 15 Comments »
Podolski was wonderful for Germany on the left wing against Poland. Since last summer Arsenal fans have been crying out for an out and out left winger in the Overmars mould to replace Reyes. Every Arsenal fan would agree that we need a winger. Podolski can finish much better then any natural winger in the [...]
Wenger’s signings, Euros and Spurs…

Wenger has cheekily commented that he is going to the Euros with an open cheque book. Since when did Wenger’s scouting network start relying on the player performances in a big tournament, and pick them based on that? I always thought the scouting network was good enough for Arsenal to be able to identify and [...]
French Open Men’s Final – Nadal has it in the bag!!!

Watched the French Open semifinals yesterday. First one was the number 2 player in the world (and the best on clay) against the number 3 in the world and the guy, who everybody believes has everything in him to be a future number 1. The other one was between the World number one, the Numero [...]
Euro 2008 – Van Persie, Cannavaro and some more

Van Persie has been injured most of this season, or for that matter most of his Arsenal career. I doubt if there has been an injury free season for him at Arsenal. Even now he is desperately trying to recover from injury, and be fit for the first match against Italy. Van Basten had initially [...]
